Instructions for Changing the V60's Antenna

(Easy how- to guide for fixing a V60's antenna after it
has been bent, broken, or just all chewed up)

1) Get a new retractable antenna.  If you do not already have one handy, order one here.  You will also need an antenna removal tool or a small flat head screwdriver.

2) Fully extend your current antenna.  Take a look at the base of the antenna.  Your objective is to unscrew the metal base from the plastic support structure.  Note the two slots on either side of the antenna's shaft.
3) Insert your antenna tool into the slots on the metal ring and carefully turn counter-clock wise.  Do not force it if it will not move.  Make sure you are going counter-clock wise (like the hands on the clock going backward).
4) Inspect the antenna base to make sure that it is clean and in good condition.  If it is broken or the threads are in poor shape, replace it before you continue.  You can find one here.

This is what it looks like.  Most of it sits inside the phone.

5) Fully extend your new replacement antenna.  Carefully screw it into the base using the antenna tool or a small flat head screwdriver.  Do not over-tighten the antenna.  You can damage the base if you do.
